Harvest Notes - Coombsville, a renowned appellation in the Southeastern corner of the Napa Valley, is tucked up against the foothills of the Vacas Range. Its soil is rocking schist, fractured cobblestone and gravelly loam. Fog in the mornings keeps the bowl cool, helping to retain acidity and balance.Calistoga has deep riverbed soils and sandy alluvial fans,it's one of the warmest areas of the valley-creating intensely rich, ripe fruit most prized by winemakers for mouthfeel and fruit forward complexity.

What Does It Taste Like? - Showing true expression of its varietal and in true Outcast form, the 2012 Cabernet Franc Reserve combines classic California style with an Old world signature. Most of the fruit for this hidden gem comes from Coombsville; It showcases savory aromas of dried herbs intertwined with black cherries. The palate is vibrant with concentrated flavors of brambly fruit, and there is a real "Coombsville Character" to the wine, with its earthy and rich texture. Aged for 27 months in French Oak,the tannins are silky and the finish is fabulous and drawn out...... leaving you craving another sip.     .

What Should Pair It With? - A versatile food wine, it pairs beautifully with grilled lamb chops, portobello mushrooms or earthy cheeses    like Gouda or Fontina.
